Her Smallest Leaf

Two green leaves

I was surprised to walk outside last week and see these two vivid green leaves laying on the deck. They really stood out amidst all the winter grays, taupes, and browns that I saw everywhere else. So, of course, I had to take a picture of them!

"Nature will bear the closest inspection. She invites us to lay our eye level with her smallest leaf, and take an insect view of its plain." ~ Henry David Thoreau

  1. Lovely - and I love the structure of the wooden floor! We had the same (macro) experience this week, I found bright red in the middle of the snowy frozen Finnish winter... :-)

  5. Beauty....pure joy. I noticed around my neck of the woods, that our trees around the city are beginning to show their new Spring Green 'dress'. We have a short winter season.
