"Time goes, you say? Ah no!
Alas, Time stays, we go." ~Henry Austin Dobson
I thought I'd share one last set of my abandoned prison photos from Lorton, Virginia. If you'd like to see Parts 1 through 3, click
HERE,
HERE and
HERE. I hope to go back again next fall and capture some more images. It was a lot of fun looking for different textures and perspectives...and the overgrowth of ivy and wildflowers throughout was very beautiful, too.
I think all the textures of a decaying and rumbling structure give it such a sense of beauty. YOu've captured it wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteSherry hi there! These are lovely. Thanks for the fun quote too. My heart melts at your photos.
ReplyDeleteSo hauntingly beautiful. I love the two boarded up arched windows and the stairs leading to the rusty door. Great visit.
ReplyDeleteThis does look so ghostly... just imagine all of the pain that was here! Lovely shots Sherri! Have a great day....
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, I love your perspective :) my face is the shot of the stairs leading up to the door.
ReplyDeleteLove the hint of purple that peeks through many of your photographs.
ReplyDeleteThe one with the real orange leaves is stunning.
