I had fun with this week's Photo Art Friday submission. I played around with this image I took of a leaf stuck in a fence, and after lots of layers it started to look like it had been glazed and fired in a kiln. I used lots of texture in this one - on the leaf itself, I used a reverse layer mask and a fabric design (public domain). I also used Bonnie's "Dream Wonder" texture at Saturation/100%, and also a free film grunge texture (Flickr, I think?) and a couple passes through Radlab. I love the freedom of playing with Photo Art in PSE - you can try anything your heart desires with just one click! And every single "mistake" can be corrected. It's such a stress buster for me...Happy Friday, everyone.

Sherri!! What a piece of photo art! It really does look like a glazed, ceramic leaf!!! Love how it is caught in the metal bar. What an inspired edit. Thank you for sharing the piece and your process with PAF.
ReplyDeleteThis is so unusual and the layers and depth you achieved are just amazing. I love the color and visual texture. I've never used RadLab, but it sure seems popular and gives excellent results. Great job! Happy PPF
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a ceramic leaf. Great work of art.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the coolest photos ever! Your photos always amaze me. I think it's time to get pse and take a class (like Brandi's over at brandigirlblog) and use the things you speak of and use so easily. Other than cropping and ligtening,....that's about as far as I go on photoshop! :)
ReplyDeleteTerrific!! I think I've said it before..but will say it again. I'm always so inspired by the work you do here!
ReplyDeleteOh I absolutely love this. I remember seeing you leaf stuck in a fence before, but this time it is fabulous in it's new guise. I entirely agree with digital art being a stress buster. It is what keeps me sane!
ReplyDeleteThis piece really is amazing - so 3D! I cannot imagine how many layers it took you to accomplish this - I'm tired just thinking about it!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Love the wonderful texture of your piece and that leaf is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. Great work.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great effect! I agree with you about playing with Photoshop - it makes it easy to try so many things.
