Bloom Where You Are Planted

bloom where you are planted

For the first time ever, I struggled with the prompt "moving" from this week's Photo Art Friday. I came up completely blank. Last night, I was still faltering and I was out of time...so I "moved on" (does that count as moving?). Instead, I played around with this flower photo I took in Middleburg, VA. I only used one texture - the handwriting. The rest of the alterations were done with different PSE blend modes, artistic effects, etc. Please click on the button below to visit Photo Art Friday - it's a really fun prompt and maybe next time you can participate, too!

  1. I hate it when I get stuck on a prompt. But that seems when I can call on all the creative juices I have and make something up. Great idea - moving on :)

  3. I think this is amazing...not only is the finished product really lovely...I think people MOVE to get away from things or to change themselves. And I think we get the most movement in our lives when we fight to figure out how to bloom where we're planted. At least that's been true for me!! I really love this!

  4. it's quite an amazing photograph, though I truly love the saying, Bloom Where You Are Planted. I once had a gorgeous piece of fabric art with that on it. it is nice to get to remember it looking at your photograph... funny, too, when I moved East in 2009 I left that piece of art BEhind... so moving kind of fits it perfectly for me!!

  12. Well, you would just never have known that you struggled with this...until you let the cat out of the bag. I have to say tho...I love the sentiment on the photo. Gives one a whole new perspective.
