Time crumbles things; everything grows old under the power of Time and is forgotten through the lapse of Time. ~Aristotle

My husband and I went back to the abandoned prison near where we live two weekends ago...every time we go to this place, I get some amazing photos! I keep wondering when/if they're going to tear all the buildings down...I'm always happy when we visit and everything is still standing. I especially love all the wild flowers growing amidst the crumbling and rubble - it adds so much beauty to the deterioration of the grounds and buildings. Nature always enhances everything. I have a bunch of photos to share - here are some that I've edited so far. I have many more to come, and we were able to go inside one of the buildings again this year. I'll share those photos soon!

I'm linking up today with Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday - in the final image above, I used her "Anna" texture at Soft Light/20%.

  3. What an interesting place! All the photos are great story-telling photos but I love the 'weeds' and seedhead shots the best ... so evocative of the season.

  7. Really like the effect of this deteriorating place with the addition of natures colors... although I have to say it is looking as if winter is not too far off at your place. Love those dried flowers. This looks like such a cool place to get photos

  9. Isn't it such a treat to find those places still there year after year. I figure if eventually they do tear it down at least I have the photographs.

  10. What an amazing place to photograph! Love all your shots. I think the first three are my favourites - love that shallow depth of field.
