Lines and Curves
Remember, a line cannot exist alone; it always brings a companion along. Do remember that one line does nothing; it is only in relation to another that it creates a volume. ~Henri Matisse
Bonnie's theme for Photo Art Friday this month is "geometric/graphic/angular". I knew right away I wanted to use a photo of Spaceship Earth at Epcot. It's probably the most identifiable structure at this park...I love all its lines and angles, which is odd considering it's a round ball! I added a couple of layers, including Bonnie's "Painterly Texture", and put the image through Radlab several times to affect the tones.

This is beautiful Sherry, I love all the little shadows created by the different angles, and oh the colors! Great quote too!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular. Really.
ReplyDeleteVery nice with all the angles and the textures. :) Great idea for this month's theme.
ReplyDeleteSimple but not simple!!!

ReplyDeleteLove how this turned out, Sheri! Great job!
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing, great edit.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! The sphere is a fabulous shape, and I love the effect of the texture.
ReplyDeletebeautiful and I love that quote
ReplyDeleteSuper cool! - Love the tones/colors of this piece. I also like the line of the fence (?) along side the dome. Our local Community College has a dome shape similar to this and it is quite fascinating.
ReplyDeleteOops, I have 2 post up today so here is the link to my PAF

Beautiful image.
ReplyDeleteStellar editing and what a perfect quote from Matisse to accompany it. I'm going to remember it and apply it to both my photo art and my painting. Thank you for sharing, Sherri!
ReplyDeleteThis is positively stunning - what gorgeous composition and editing. Love.
ReplyDeleteThis is just delicious ... Maybe you should send it to Epcot and see if they would like to dispaly it, or even use it to change the look of Spaceship Earth. It has been the same for a long time. Great work ...
ReplyDeleteAndrea @ From The Sol
This is one of those pieces that I have to keep scrolling back to for another look. Such a simple image yet extremely complex at the same time with all the angles and shadows and gradient colours. I love it when a piece challenges me like that.
ReplyDeletea beautiful abstrakt. :)
